South Africa bowl first with four seamers; Head, Hazlewood return for Australia

Toss South Africa chose to bowl v Australia

A South African XI with four seamers and four spin options will chase in the first of three T20Is ahead of next year's World Cup. Aiden Markram, who will use his own offspin, returns to the XI after resting for the Zimbabwe tri-series and leads a team which includes Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Kwena Maphaka and Corbin Bosch as the pace pack. Both left-arm spin bowling allrounders, George Linde and Senuran Muthusamy, had been included with Dewald Brevis offering legspin.

Australia are resting Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, as they did in the Caribbean, but Josh Hazlewood and Travis Head return to bolster an XI that is coming off a 5-0 sweep of West Indies.

Head will open alongside Australia's captain Mitchell Marsh, which the skipper announced would be the likely long-term combination for the World Cup next year. Head's return means Glenn Maxwell has been listed at No. 7 behind the same power-packed middle-order that tormented West Indies with Tim David listed at No. 5 after making his maiden century in St Kitts in that position last month
